General
Do you serve my town?
We work across Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, including Hicksville, Levittown, Plainview, Bethpage, Syosset, Melville, Huntington, and many other communities. If you are unsure, contact us with your address and we will confirm.
Is there a charge for an estimate?
No. We do not charge for the initial site visit and estimate within our normal service area. If you are outside that area we may discuss a trip charge; we will say so before we schedule.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the time of year and our schedule. When you contact us we give you an idea of when we can do the site visit and when we could schedule the work. Storm-related or urgent jobs are prioritized when possible.
Tree Work
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
Some towns on Long Island require permits for tree removal or have rules about certain species or sizes. We can advise based on your location, but you are responsible for obtaining any required permits. We can work around your permit timeline once it is in place.
Do you take down the whole tree or just trim it?
We do both. We only recommend removal when the tree is dead, hazardous, or you have decided you no longer want it. If trimming can achieve your goal, we recommend that. We explain the options during the site visit.
Do you remove the wood and debris?
Yes. We haul away branches and wood and leave the site clean unless you ask to keep firewood or wood chips. Stump grinding produces chips that we can leave on site or remove; we discuss that with you when we quote.
Stump Grinding
Can you grind a stump if someone else removed the tree?
Yes. We can grind stumps as a standalone service. We need reasonable access to the stump. Contact us and we can schedule a visit to give you an estimate.
How deep do you grind?
We typically grind several inches below grade so you can add soil and replant. Deeper grinding is possible for a fee if you need it. We can discuss depth when we look at the stump.
